UPDATE: I did get the SSD showing as "unallocated". Let me know if you can think of anything else. I cannot understand what Dell is thinking, sending these out with the OS installed on the HDD and not on the SSD. Had to start chewing Nicotine chewing gum, though, to prevent the machine from accidentally being repeatedly rammed into a wall before accidentally falling out the window. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style" If I do mount it in Win10 first it shows up but I get "windows cannot be installed on this disk.

Having the OS on the HDD and leaving the much faster SSD for just storing files on makes no sense at all. Please, please, if anyone can advise I would be very grateful as this is driving me mad. But when I try to install the OS it returns the error "A required drive partition is missing". I tried to pwd protect the HDD and deliberately enter the wrong pwd 3 times to lock it, then boot with the Alienware recovery USB stick. The SSD however is not available as an option under the boot menu (even when selecting Legacy). I have basically tried to use the USB alienware recovery stick to do a fresh install, but I just cannot get the OS on the SSD. When I got the machine (and after basically moving all my stufff over) I realized that for reasons I just cannot begin to understand the OS was installed on the HDD and not on the SSD.

I just bought an Alienware 15 R2 with a 1TB HDD and a 1TB SSD. I really hope there is someone here who can help as I have been struggling for days with this.
